The winter isn’t ALL bad. Right?
Winter’s here – and whether you love it or hate it, winter can actually be a better time to buy a home than any other time of the year. Here’s 4 reasons why:
1. There are fewer buyers to compete with.
This may be obvious, but the low demand of buyers will work in your favor, as there’s less competition in the market.
2. Housing prices are generally lower.
When there are fewer buyers in the market, supply can surpass demand and that can result in lower prices than in the peak seasons.
3. Sellers are more motivated.
Fewer buyers in the market means sellers are more likely to negotiate with you and sell quickly, especially if they have plans lined up to move. Some professionals NEED to relocate by the 1st of the year for a new job or relocation so there is a surprising number of VERY motivated sellers at this time of year!
4. Things are just not as busy in the winter.
In the peak seasons, title companies, lenders, and even some of us realtors are all typically busy working with multiple buyers.
When winter comes, everything tends to slow down and everyone will have more time to focus on you. Follow me for more real estate information!
